Theatre for the New City, Crystal Field (artistic director) presents: I.M. LOST!

A devised tragicomedy based on interviews with clowns, written/performed by Nathalie Ellis-Einhorn and directed by Benita de Wit. Come explore the pun-tastic world of hospital clowning, attend a clown funeral, learn how to correctly paint on a clown eyebrow, laugh at our failures, and play silly games with us till we spiral into chaos. Featuring Justin Danforth.

Nathalie Ellis-Einhorn (Writer/Actor): is an actor/theatre maker from Hong Kong who graduated from Princeton in 2016, where she performed in productions like Disco Pigs, Macbeth, and Red Noses. She wrote and performed I.M. LOST! as her thesis at Princeton, and received prizes for her work on the piece from the English, Theatre and Gender Studies departments. She performed the piece again at Dixon Place in January 2017. She has studied clown with Christopher Bayes, Daniel Stein, Mick Barnfather, Gabriel Levey and Catherine Mueller Melwani. Princeton has also brought her back multiple times this year to teach an ongoing series of clown workshops in the university chapel. She is currently working on a new piece about Valerie Solanas, beauty pageants and female bridge players. www.elliseinhorn.com

Benita de Wit (Director): is a Brooklyn-based Australian director with a background in new, devised and immersive work. Directing credits include Hereafter Institute (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), The Secret Society of Forbidden Literature (New York Public Library), Waves + Lines (Roulette), Undrown’d Seeking Asylum (Connelly Theatre), Perspectives from the Nepal Earthquake (Schapiro Theatre), The Drowned World (SITI Studios), Stalker: The Musical (New York International Fringe), The Three Sisters (Columbia University), Private Lives (Columbia University) and The Bacchae (Miller Theatre). Assistant Directing credits include The Moors (Playwright's Realm, dir. Mike Donahue), Comedy of Errors (Classic Stage Company, dir. Tyne Rafaeli). Benita was a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation 2016-2017 Observership class and is a Columbia University MFA Directing graduate. www.benitadewit.com
